Melbourne Day 2

So! here we are! Melbourne Day 2 (Monday) it was a completely lovely day, starting out with some amazing architecture as i made my way to the AMAZIN creperie! i had the most delicious spinach and tomato and goats cheese crepe ...mmmmm! i walked down to Federation Square to eat said crepe and a bloomin' seagull swooped down to try to get a bite out of my crepe and bit my finger! it was crazy! i then continued walking and eating...sitting down was obviously impossible with maneating seagulls lurking. So i crossed the bridge over to Southbank.

I wandered through southbank, checking out the sights, and came across giant golden insects on the buildings! how cool is that!

I stopped to watch a street performer, he was pretty funny xD and he was irish, which made it even funnier! and he managed to get himself out of this bag and chains and rope, very amusing :)

I then proceeded to the National Gallery of Victoria, which was ohmygosh, AMAZING!

They had a really incredible exhibition on about the art and design of the city of Vienna, featuring many iconic works of Gustave Klimt

after a few hours at that exhibition i wandered through the other galleries...a really impressive collection!

Here we have a couple of J.M.W. Turner's

And then a couple of Camille Pissarro's

and a beautiful monet!

and an amazing painting by Gustave Courbet!

and a very brilliant Picasso :)

Then there was this crazy beautiful huge gallery with the walls beautifully covered with wonderful artworks

ooh and the ceiling of the main entrance to the gallery was pretty awesome

so after a long time at the art gallery i walked back across the river and had a starbucks and went home :)

heres a rather interesting building

and an intricate mosaic on this building!

oh and crazy cool sculptures on the lawn

The Yarra River and Melbourne buildings :)

something i didnt get a good picture of yesterday, the GORGEOUS gpo (i dont even know/remember what that stands for :P)

So yes, that was my amazing 2nd day in Melbourne! i am loving this city more and more every day!
